GLP1-agonists are a new group of injections (not insulin) used to treat type 2 diabetes.
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogues are a relatively new group of medicines that can be prescribed for treating type 2 diabetes. GLP-1 analogues reduce the level of glucose in the blood by increasing the amount of insulin in the blood, reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver, and helping the stomach to empty more slowly so that glucose is absorbed more slowly.
