The risk of shingles and related complications increases with age, especially after 70yrs (1). By 85, one in two Australians will have experienced shingles (2). 1 in 3 people may develop shingles in their lifetime, and the risk of developing shingles and related complications increases over the age of 70 (1-3). If you're 70-79 years of age, it's important to discuss your risk of shingles with your doctor.
